The third article for Jan Gödde's dissertation has been published in the journal ‘Case Studies on Transport Policy’. It examines the potential use of e-scooter sharing and the challenges of implementing it in suburban communities using a mixed-method approach. Based on a living lab in which e-scooter sharing was tested over a period of two months, the spatial user behaviour and the results of focus groups on possible implementation strategies are analysed. The results indicate potential for use on intermodal commuter routes by young people, with inadequate cycle path networks and financial difficulties posing the greatest challenges. Cooperation between cities and providers is identified as the key to successful adaptation.
