RESEARCH

Research in the Research Group of Urban Development addresses the complex dynamics of spatial-structural change, changes in land use, infrastructure, mobility and transport. We study the institutions, governance systems and instrumental approaches of planning aimed at sustainable urban and regional development and mobility. Research projects deal with questions of inner development and densification, with instruments of land and housing policy as well as with the interconnected processes of long- and short-term mobility (migration, everyday mobility, long distance travel) and related planning. We work with quantitative and qualitative data from different sources (surveys, interviews, geodata, register data) and have multifaceted experience with quantitative and qualitative methods.
